Maybe I was a bit harsh about the "anyone and everyone". I'm basing my opinion on what's she covered about thyroid disease and she doesn't have the best medical advice for that, so it puts me on guard for everything else. But you're right, we have to give her props. She has done amazing things with her knowledge and platform.

Hey DD, I'm not totally sure I agree with you. I love Oprah - don't get to watch her because she comes on during working hours, and sometimes the subjects just aren't dvr-worthy. But I do think she tries to find the best doctors and experts. I love Dr. Oz, and Dr. Phil was ok when he was on her show - his current show is iffy. In any case I'm with Letterman - you gotta give her props. She puts her money where her mouth is. I truly believe that she is out to entertain and inform, and she gives back heavily. I do think that her viewers could be a little more discriminating. No matter how wise one may think O is, she is only human, and it is up to her viewers to decide for themselves what they do with her info. Thanks for all your comments.

Hi Daydreaming David!! Thank you for your great thoughts!! I'm going to have to defer to you and Elle on this one because I don't get to watch that much TV and that includes Oprah. As you know, I'd rather write. :-)

Any woman who offers credible medical opinion on the benefits of a daily spoonful of lovin' for men is going to be respected by men;-) My beef with Oprah is that I find her quick to jump on bandwagons and she has no qualms about featuring anyone and everyone who's come out with a book on a disease du jour. For medical advice, I'm wary. And I don't think I could every forgive her for unleashing Dr. Phil on the public. Apart from that, I can relate to her thirst for knowledge - seems intrinsic to us Aquarians. We want to be walking encyclopedias.
