Hello, singmedavid. Glad to see your blog is in full swing now. Wish I was more technically minded. I thought David did really well here singing unaccompanied. This is the voice I wish he would use more, powerful and emotive. I will keep looking at future blogs, if that’s ok with you. Have fun with it. xxx

Hi British Fan!!! I’m so glad you visited and commented!!! Of course it’s OK with me for you to keep visiting. I’d love it!!! And I know it’s OK with Elle too. ;-)

Yes, I was very impressed with his performance here. Thanks for pointing out he did this a cappella too!!! That is a very significant detail I forgot draw attention to. He has such extraordinary singing talent!! :-)

I knew when I started blogging about David that because I was such a new fan, everything that was “new” to me would most likely be already familiar to the vast majority of fans. But I suppose if I’m a new fan, there are others out there too.

I hope, at the very least, that you will enjoy the postings and DD’s thoughtful comments!!!

Just a hint, tomorrow’s is one of my favorites. British Fan, this one makes me cry. I’m sure you’ve seen this before, but I would guess you’d like to see it again. :-) Have a great day!!! TTYS!

Don’t worry about everything being ‘new’. Sometimes it is for me too since there were many years when I knew nothing of him. It’s quite exciting to find out these things! I remember him resurfacing in Britain in 1985, I bough his Romance album on cassette tape (warped and no longer plays). It was for old times’ sake, not really my cup of tea at the time, didn’t like the blonde look so much either. I had no idea he’d been playing concerts in England since around 2001/2. Talk about missed opportunities!

  • I had found the clip on someone’s blog and the person had deemed it schmaltzy. I don’t find it too schmaltzy. He does do schmaltzy but I don’t think this is best example of it.

After listening to him doing Tell Me It’s Not True from his early forties over and over again yesterday, I’m shocked to hear his voice so deep here. Yum. :-)

I agree, Daydreaming David, I thought this was a fabulous performance. Who doesn’t sing this effusively??? I’m not sure how you get too schmaltzy when you sing something like this. It’s our national anthem for crying out loud!!! LOL!!!

Hmmm…effusive. Does that remind you of anyone? LOL!
