And the challenge continues, not just to keep blogging every day, but also in questioning my chosen blog topic: David Cassidy’s sex appeal. In a comment to Elle’s David Cassidy? Try Real Man Gilles Marini post, she claimed that David Cassidy’s “then” voice never “did float her boat.” Seriously? She also said that her “formative years were spent drooling over an older man, Rod Stewart.” British Fan very helpfully suggested that if she liked the “smoky vocals” of Rod Stewart, perhaps she’d like David’s Tomorrow (thank you British Fan!). Of course this video affords lots of great pictures of David “then”. So what do you think Elle?

I love his vocal on this! Sumerkis has the most wonderful pictures of David. There are so many good ones here. I love the red top/blue jeans at 0.48. Don’t see that one so often. A few gorgeous 1990’s long hair David – oh yes!! I love the “thank you, you’re beautiful” at the end.
Hi British Fan, I love him in red and pink. Also light blue, white, and black. Any color actually. LOL!!! You had mentioned something about his “then” teeth in a post a while ago on Daydreaming David’s site. I agree, I like the little overbite he had then. His teeth are gorgeous now, but … I like the little overbite. Isn’t he to die for those black and white pictures??? omg. I know, Sumer has some of the best pictures. There always seems to be “surprises” embedded in her videos somewhere from the middle on, like extra sexy pictures. I’m always delighted when I watch them!!!

If Elle wants to educate us with more ofher own choice of the male of the species, she’s more than welcome. I understand DC wont float everyone’s boat. I hate to say it but there are probably more handsome men in the States than in the UK.
Yes, I do love his old teeth, although they probably best suited the young David. He look so adorable flashing them, especially when facing sideways with a wide smile.

I actually liked Rod Stewart’s voice and records back in the day. I never fancied him or thought him good-looking. He had the shag hairdo thing though!

Sorry all, I was out all day, visited a family member, went to a book fair, ate out w/ the ole man, and then my son was on the computer writing an essay, so I went to bed. This morning, I was uninspired, but finally put together a post, which will be ignored by the cassidy fans – lol!
Yes, the vocals were admittedly good in this one. And he’s nice looking, but they’re pics of a kid. And once again, I have to say, he’s decent looking but not great at this age.
BF, you’re right, Rod Stewart isn’t that great looking – there’s just something abaout him. I had to laugh about the thing of more good looking men in the U.S. Who knows? We do have a stereotype of Englishmen having bad teeth – it may have spun from the Austin Powers movies.
But I will say that an Englishman could read a mathematical formula here in the U.S. and sound so sexy. We love those Brit accents!
Now, I’m going to have to see a closeup pic of DC and his now teeth. I didn’t know that was another thing that changed with age.
Mike Meyers has a lot to answer for. Our teeth aren’t that bad! Mind you our celebrities have fallen victim to the gleaming white veneers recently. Who needs studio lights?!
I think Rod is sexy, maybe that’s what it is. He’s certainly not had any trouble getting the most gorgeous women over the years.

Now your’re talking. We like our plummy accents (posh). Colin Firth is another one. Both of them were in Bridget Jones Diary with Renee Zellweger. Love that film. Prefer Renee in this film, she looks good with more weight.
Oh Yes!! Colin Firth. I loved that film too, BF. Renee was so adorable in that movie. I do love the British accent! I could listen to it all day.
I did like a few Rod Stewart songs over the years. But I didn’t go for his voice like I did David’s, or his looks. I think my favorite of Rod’s is Someone Like You.

My favorite Rod Stewart song is “True Blue” but it might be considered more of a “Faces” tune. Not sure. He’s got an interesting voice, for certain but I must admit I can’t stand his take on the standards. The upside is he helped a new generation discover great songs. He definitely has “something” that translates into “sexy”. I don’t find him him pretty enough though. I like my boys pretty, what can I say?

Elle, DC was in his early twenties back then, hardly a kid! Mind you, I reserve the right to change my tune when my kid reaches that age. Gulp. And “decent-looking”?! Methinks a certain Staingirl might be needing an eye exam
I usually attempt to drool over guys over 30. It makes me feel more respectable. lol. There’s a young American actor I’m quite partial to called Chris Pine. He was in Princess Diaries 2, course I watched that with my daughter, and he’s Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek film. Yes, I’m owning up to being a bit of a sci-fi geek!! Chris is extremely tasty and very good looking. The voice is quite sexy too!

Mmmm. Chris Pine. And he, like Brad Pitt and several others, can wear that unshaven look so well. I don’t think I would like that look on the young David. Has anyone seen any videos or photos of him like this? Clodyne? Maybe the more filled out, fortyish David could pull it off. Oh my. That’s a luscious image to envision.
David was very clean faced wasn’t he? If he’s anything like my son, who’s fair haired and delicately featured, maybe he couldn’t grow it anyways. My young one ’shaves’ but doesn’t really need to and still has no stubble at 21!
He must have great hair, British Fan!! My boys have enough to shave almost daily at 17, but not full beards yet. I’m not sure they will ever get that. Their father’s face is sparse on the facial hair.
Yea, that Mike Myers sure did ruin it for you. Plus he girlied up Austin Powers, that may be why we think Brit men can be a little girly.
Hugh Grant hmmm – just love him, but a bit of a naughty boy – still not getting what he was thinking of with the prostitute when he could get anything and had Elizabeth Hurley waiting at home for him.
And I just love colin Firth. I don’t think he’s all that good looking and if he were American I might think, OK, but he opens that mouth (which does not have bad teeth)and sounds so sexy!
And neither of them are girly.
Love Brad Pitt, too. and don’t forget his buddies, George Clooney, Ben Afflek and matt damon (in a cute boyish way)
