Did you see the last HP movie? What do you all think?
I LOVED IT!!!! It’s one of my favorites. In fact, this is the only HP movie I like more than the book.
Spoiler Alert: I thought the ending of the book was a bit too tidy and shallowly happy. For me it didn’t reflect the depth of loss that occurred in their victory, or at least as I remember it. I thought the book ended more like a young child’s fairytale. In fact, I never thought any of the books to be like that until the very last part. I got the feeling that Rowling just wanted to finish it and got lazy with it, or maybe she was just trying to shorten it a bit. The movie ending seemed more satisfying in that it captured the more realistic bittersweet and cautionary sentiments they would feel after such an epic war of good against evil. And I thought the acting was fantastic. They’d all brilliantly grown into their parts. I love how the young actors grew up with the characters they played.
